Origin
The Kittyhawk Class Carrier is a ship out of the Star Trek universe. In Star Trek it is called the Akira Class Starship, which was one of the few Federation Carriers in the latter half of the 24th Century.[1]
Comments
The Missouri is the sole carrier of the The Solar Federation. With its low mass, low cargo, and 6 fighter bays it does not appear to be much. However, when paired with a Missouri Class Battleship, Diplomacy Class Cruiser, or Nova Class Super-Dreadnought, as well as the Fed crew bonus of +3 fighter bays and extra mass, this ship becomes an amazing threat. Although a fully loaded Kitty costs around 7500 mc, this should not be a problem for a fed player that has paid attention to developing his economy.
Because of its small cargo hold Kitty's need constant resupply from other Kitty's. A Kittyhawk Class Carrier allows a Federation player to maintain a favorable ratio for PBPs When fighting races with Heavy Carriers.
