With its low mass, low cargo, and 6 fighter bays it does not appear to be much.  However, when paired with a [[Missouri Class Battleship]], [[Diplomacy Class Cruiser]], or [[Nova Class Super-dreadnought]], as well as the Fed crew bonus of +3 fighter bays and extra mass, this ship becomes an amazing threat.  Although a fully loaded Kitty costs around 7500 mc, this should not be a problem for a fed player that has paid attention to developing his economy.  Because of its small cargo hold Kittyhawks need constant resupply.  A Kittyhawk Class Carrier allows a Federation player to maintain a favorable ratio for PBPs When fighting races with Heavy Carriers.
