Command Ship
Command Ships (such as the Iron Lady Class Command Ship) have the ability to move earlier in the host order, before normal movement. Ships owned by the same player and at the same start location as the Command Ship will also move in this earlier host phase. Moving early allows these ships to move before new mines are laid. It also makes them sweep mines after they move, instead of before. They will also lay mines after movement, instead of before.
Command Ships can tow early. However, interceptions will take place during the normal intercept phase, after all other ships have moved.
Notes on Rules
If a command ship is towing, accompanying ships will still go early, even if they are not towing.
Command Ship Ability
Ships moving early, during Command Ship Movement, will move BEFORE:
- Any changes to minefields (Selenite Push/Pull, Lay Mines, Minesweep/Minescoop)
- Ion Storms move
- Force Surrender
- Normal Towing movement
- Normal movement
- Intercepting
Warnings
Command Ship movement can sometimes create surprising and un-intuitive outcomes.
For example, To avoid a tow lock, the Command Ship can simply move away.
Also, since CS movement is now before starbase ship repair, you will move before the SB repair happens and your ship will not get repaired.
Examples of things that can fail because they happen after CS movement: Starbase Fix, Clone, Super Refit, Empire Fighter Transfer Examples of things that will increase your fuel consumption, due to happening after movement: 'MKT' and Repair via Supplies.
